Spring at Last
Even our Charlie Brown weeping cherry tree, which we thought was dead, decided to bloom:
Here are Abbi and Morgan enjoying story hour at the local library. Below, Morgan having a blast at "Hands On," a children's activity center in downtown Hendersonville:
We also went to Chimney Rock, where we took an elevator up a mountain and then looked down. What a view!
In early May, just before the primary, Hillary came to Hendersonville! We went early and got pretty good seats -- well, Judy sat -- her friend Susan and I stood -- but we were very close! I got this nice shot of Hillary hugging the governor:
On Mother's Day weekend I headed to the Midwest. First I visited my friend Deb, and her gorgeous granddaughter Fiona, in West Lafayette:
I had lunch with my Purdue friends, and spent some precious time with Brian and Kristen in their very cute apartment:
We also went to Merrillville, where we met Kristen's parents for lunch -- then went on to Chicago, to meet up with Andrew, Abbi and Morgan. We all had dinner at a great pizza restaurant in Evanston, along with my ex and his wife (we are such a modern family!) The next morning, Abbi, Morgan and I took a walk to the (chilly) beach, where Morgan gave me specially selected leaves and showed me his bubble-blowing skills:
What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Can't wait for the next holiday!
